Help before your ride

Frequently asked questions

From requesting and reserving to prices, payments, the Taximeter and receipts — here are the essentials for CroCab passengers.

1. How can I request a CroCab ride?

You can request a ride through the CroCab app, the web form or CroCab dispatch. Enter the pickup, destination and any intermediate stops, select a vehicle category and check the displayed price before confirming.

You may also hail an available CroCab partner vehicle on the street. The driver can then start the CroCab Taximeter independently of a request through the app, web or dispatch. The current public tariff applies.

2. Can I reserve a ride in advance?

Yes. You can reserve a ride from 30 minutes to 30 days in advance. The app lets you review reservations, follow their status and cancel until the ride begins.

3. Is a request submitted through the website confirmed immediately?

No. A web request becomes a confirmed reservation only after CroCab dispatch checks the entered details, route and vehicle availability. You will then receive a confirmation or notice that the ride cannot currently be arranged.

4. How is the ride price calculated?

The price is calculated from the current public tariff, selected vehicle category, starting price, recommended route and expected traffic. Platform requests show the maximum price before confirmation. Once accepted, it does not increase because of a detour, longer route or duration; only the arrival estimate is updated.

For a separate ride started with the Taximeter, the final amount depends on the actual distance and ride time under the tariff shown in the public price list.

5. Is there a discount for longer journeys?

Yes. Road journeys from 100 to 1,000 kilometres requested through the platform automatically receive a distance-based discount from 10% to 20%. The percentage and price are shown before confirmation.

6. Can I add several intermediate stops?

Yes. You can add up to three intermediate stops between pickup and destination. CroCab calculates a recommended road route through all locations. The driver confirms each completed stop in order, after which routing and ETA move to the next location.

7. Can I select additional needs and ride preferences?

Yes. You can request pet transport, a child seat or space for a package you carry with you during the ride. A package is not a separate courier or delivery service. The driver sees additional needs after accepting the ride.

Fulfilment of additional needs and preferences depends on safety conditions, weather and vehicle capabilities.

8. Who provides CroCab rides?

Registered transport partners and their professional drivers provide the rides. Every partner and driver active in the CroCab system undergoes identity, required-document and vehicle-information checks before being approved to work on the platform.

9. What if no driver is currently available?

If a supported driver can serve the selected area and options, the app keeps the request queued and automatically expands the search from 5 to 10 and then up to 20 km. If the service is not supported in that area, you can select another category or contact CroCab dispatch. Vehicle availability cannot be guaranteed unconditionally.

10. How can I pay and who collects the fare?

A ride can currently be paid for in cash or by card at the end of the ride. Payment is collected by the registered transport partner that provided the ride, normally through the driver.

CroCab does not charge for the ride in the app, hold passenger funds or provide card-payment processing. Card payment is available only when the partner or vehicle has a suitable terminal or another approved way to accept cards, so availability should be confirmed before departure. Bank-transfer payment, online prepayment, digital wallets and split payments are not currently available through CroCab.

11. Who issues and fiscalises the receipt?

The registered transport partner that provided the ride issues and fiscalises the receipt. At ride completion, the driver records the payment method on the partner's behalf.

For a business receipt (R1/R2), the passenger must provide the buyer's name or company name, OIB and address before issue. CroCab technically creates, delivers and securely stores the document, but it is neither the receipt issuer nor the payment recipient.

12. Where can I find my receipt, request a correction or get help?

After the ride, the receipt is available in the app. An issued receipt is not edited or deleted; a justified correction or cancellation is recorded as a separate linked document, while any refund is carried out by the partner or its card-payment provider according to the original payment method.
